I grew u p i n Mitchells Plain and was schooled there – academically
and culturally. Mitchells Plain i s where I had some of the worst things
happen t o m e but it’s also where I learned t o no t just survive but
thrive. I matriculated i n 1988 and went o n to attain a National Higher
Certificate i n Residential Child Care. Child Psychology and Social Care
were the subjects I connected w ith most. B y the age o f 2 0 I was living
independently.
